FAQ
1. The battery capacity of the STREAM Ultra X is 3.84kWh, which is twice the battery capacity of the STREAM Ultra.
2. The battery of the STREAM Ultra X has a greater charging power. The maximum charging power is 1500W when using PV, 1200W when using the grid and 1500W when using both.
3. Replacing the DIY Front Case of the STREAM Ultra X is a different process. For more information, see the STREAM
Ultra X User Manual.
Please read the Product Compatibility List in the User Manual before purchasing and using the STREAM Solar Battery with other products (including third-party products).
1. The STREAM AC doesn't support discharging in off-grid mode. It can only work in on-grid mode.
2. The maximum charging/discharging power of the STREAM AC battery is 800W.
3. When the STREAM AC and STREAM Max are connected in parallel, they must be connected to the AC outlet of the STREAM Max using an AC cable. For more information, see the System Expansion Chapter of the STREAM AC User Manual.
*Note: After completing the installation and connection of the STREAM AC, you must configure the system wiring settings in the app before using the device.
4. When a STREAM Max is connected to a STREAM Ultra/Pro/AC Pro/Ultra X in parallel, only one device can be connected to the end of the connection chain.
1. In off-grid mode, the STREAM Max doesn't support discharging via the AC outlet, but it can be charged using the PV port.
2. When the STREAM Max and STREAM Max/AC are connected in parallel, they mustbe connected to the AC outlet of the STREAM Max using an AC cable. For more information, see the System Expansion Chapter of the STREAM Max User Manual.
*Note: After completing the installation and connection of the STREAM Max, you must configure the system wiring settings in the app before using the device.
3. When a STREAM Max is connected to a STREAM Ultra/Pro/AC Pro/Ultra X in parallel, only one device can be connected to the end of the connection chain.
The system prioritizes solar energy. When solar generation falls short of the power demand, the battery automatically steps in to make up the difference. If there’s still a shortfall, the grid supplies the remaining power. When solar output exceeds consumption, the excess energy is first stored in the battery. Any additional surplus can be exported to the grid, depending on your settings and in compliance with local regulations.
All devices must be connected to the same network and added to the same “Space” within the EcoFlow app.
To access the full functionality of the STREAM Series, a connection to Wi-Fi and the EcoFlow app is required. Bluetooth or LAN-only connections will not support features like remote control or historical data tracking.
Yes, a temperature rise during use is normal and does not affect the product’s lifespan. The unit has passed rigorous testing and includes overheat protection. For best performance, install it out of direct sunlight with at least 3 cm clearance from walls or objects, and away from flammable materials.
The system can be self-installed and maintained. However, in the UK, local regulations require the EcoFlow STREAM DIY Cable to be wired into the distribution board, which must be done by a certified installer or electrician.
If you disable the feed-in protection switch in the EcoFlow app, the excess solar power will be fed into the grid.
For safety and compliance reasons, the STREAM system will automatically detect a grid anomaly and stop feeding current into the grid during a power outage. You can then plug in your appliances directly into the AC outlets to use internal battery or solar power.
Compensation policies may vary by region. You should contact your local grid operator using the contact information provided on your electricity bill to inquire.
As long as the panels meet the input range for the PV port and use the same type of connector, they can be used. Each PV port’s input range is: operating voltage 15-60V, operating current ≤14A.
Due to regulatory limits, it is recommended to connect no more than one microinverter.
Not necessarily. It might prioritize using one device's power or discharge multiple devices simultaneously. The system employs an intelligent charging and discharging strategy based on the current power levels of the devices, the power consumption of the appliances, the actual connection setup, and your settings in the app. Thus, the discharging performance of specific devices may vary.
The AI TOU feature means that the EcoFlow app will use dynamic electricity price data from the local power company to perform smart charge and discharge strategies based on peak and off-peak pricing, maximizing your electricity bill savings. This feature requires a subscription.*An AI TOU strategy will only be generated when the price difference between peak and off-peak is substantial enough because charging and discharging involve losses. If the economic benefits are less than the battery loss, charging and discharging will not take place.
No. / No. The Portable Power Station can only be charged by the STREAM Series products, not discharge to them. If you need to expand capacity or power, you can increase the number of STREAM Series products in the STREAM system (up to 6 devices per system).
STREAM Ultra X features a battery capacity around 40% higher than industry standards, helping to minimise solar energy waste. With support for up to 2300W AC output, it can power high-demand appliances, making it the most efficient balcony storage solution for solar energy use.
1. Estimated Electricity Cost Savings (Based on Germany)The estimated savings are calculated using the following formula:
- Annual Savings = Savings from self-consumed system generation + Savings from surplus energy utilisation
- Generation estimates: PVWatts Calculator
Self-consumption rate: Estimated using HTW Berlin's Independence Calculator (source)
- Electricity rate: €0.40/kWh
- Estimated surplus energy utilisation rate (AI Mode, Solar Forecast): 35%
Note: Savings will vary depending on geographic location, panel orientation, daily electricity prices, and other factors.
Example Calculations:
Configuration: Ultra X × 6 + 10 × 500W solar panels (5,000W total)
Annual savings: (5328kWh × 90% × €0.40/kWh) + (5328kWh × 10% × 35% × €0.40/kWh) = €1,993
2. Some AI features in the EcoFlow app require a premium subscription. Please refer to the app for details on plans and feature availability.
3. The EcoFlow app integrates weather data from Solcast, performing over 100 million data operations per hour to deliver forecasts with up to 94% accuracy and a three-day horizon. (source)
