FAQ
Taking a 5kWh battery pack as an example, calculated at approximately 1 complete cycle per day:
10000 cycles ≈ 27 years of service life
If the ambient temperature of the device is >35°C, the output power of the device will decrease; if the ambient temperature of the device is <0°C, the charging power of the device will decrease.
The photovoltaic input interface of the STREAM device is an MC4 interface. You can purchase an appropriate extension cable according to the actual installation distance (usually 3m to 5m, and the length of a single cable should not exceed 30m). If you need to parallel multiple solar panels to increase current, you can also optionally add an MC4 branch cable.
[Note]: The current-carrying capacity of the selected cable must not be lower than the short-circuit current (40A) of the corresponding photovoltaic circuit to ensure safe operation.
Connection Steps:
1. Insert the MC4 male connector (+) and MC4 female connector (−) of the solar panel into the extension cable respectively.
2. Connect the other end of the extension cable to the PV INPUT interface marked on the back of the STREAM 5000 (pay attention to the correspondence of positive and negative poles).
3. Tighten the MC4 connector until a "click" sound is heard to confirm that the connection is secure.
When solar panels are connected in parallel, the current adds up normally, and the voltage is limited by the panel with the smallest voltage. You need to ensure that the parameters and combination method of the connected solar panels do not exceed the following ranges:
1. Voltage: The open-circuit voltage of the solar panel must be within the voltage range of the STREAM 5000;
2. Current: The short-circuit current of the solar panel < the maximum current of STREAM 5000 2;
3. Power: The maximum power of the solar panel cannot exceed 1.2 times the maximum input power of 1250W;
4. The current-carrying capacity of the cable connecting the photovoltaic system must not be lower than the short-circuit current of the photovoltaic panel in that circuit (40A);
All four conditions must be met simultaneously; if any one is exceeded, it cannot be used.
i. Grid-connected scenario [connected to the home grid]
For a single device, the maximum output power of the grid-connected port is 2500W. When expanded with a power pack, the maximum output power of the grid-connected port can be increased to 3000W.
When the system is connected to the grid, the device automatically limits the system’s grid-connected output power to comply with the grid-connected power limit specified by local regulations.
In grid-connected operation, the maximum load capacity of a single device’s AC outlet is 3600W in bypass mode.
ii. Off-grid scenario [not connected to the home grid]
In off-grid mode, the maximum output power of the AC outlet of a single device used as an emergency power supply is 2500W. When expanded with a power pack, the maximum output power of the AC outlet can be increased to 3000W.

In off-grid mode, when a single device is used as an emergency power supply, the maximum output power of the AC outlet is 2500W. When the device is used with a power pack, the maximum output power of the AC outlet can be increased to 3000W.
A system can include up to six STREAM AC 5000/STREAM 5000 host devices, providing a maximum total output capacity of 18kW.
The initial default settings will limit the maximum output of devices in the system to not exceed the upper limit specified by local regulations in your area.
A system can support up to 6 STREAM 5000 & STREAM AC 5000 units, with a maximum system expandable capacity of 90KWh.
1. Larger capacity: The single unit capacity is 5024Wh, which is several times that of the previous generation. It supports parallel expansion of up to 2 Expansion Batteries, which can expand the host capacity to 15KWh; a system can connect up to six hosts, with a maximum capacity of 90KWh;
2. Stronger solar input: Supports up to 4 solar inputs, with a maximum of 1250W per channel, and a total input power of up to 5000W, making full use of high-power solar panels;
3. Higher grid-connected output capability: The maximum grid-connected output of a single STREAM 5000 is 3000W, while that of a single STREAM AC 5000 is 2500W, which can reach 3000W when paired with an Expansion Battery;
4. Sufficient off-grid power: AC Outlet (in grid-connected situation) has a maximum output of 3600W, meeting the needs of high-power electrical appliances;
5. Flexible expansion: Supports STREAM Gateway to further expand grid-connected power, with up to 6 units working together, featuring strong scalability;
6. Improved intelligence: Supports intelligent functions such as Intelligent mode and Peak Shaving, making energy management more worry-free.

It supports parallel expansion of up to 2 Expansion Batteries, which can expand the host capacity to 15KWh; a maximum of six hosts can be connected in one system, with a maximum capacity of up to 90KWh;
3. Higher grid-connected output: The maximum grid-connected output of a single STREAM 5000 is 3000W, while the single STREAM AC 5000 is 2500W, which can reach 3000W when paired with an Expansion Battery;
4. Sufficient off-grid power: The AC Outlet has a maximum output of 3600W, meeting the needs of high-power electrical appliances;
5. Flexible expansion: Supports stack expansion, a single host can be stacked with 2 Expansion Batteries, with strong expandability;
6. Improved intelligence: Supports intelligent functions such as Intelligent mode and Peak Shaving, making energy management more worry-free.
Working principle: By linking with the smart meter, during the day, the solar panels convert light energy into electrical energy, part of which is directly supplied to household loads, and part is stored in the battery for backup; at night or on cloudy days, the energy stored in the battery is released for household use, and excess electricity can be output to the grid.
The system can be remotely monitored and set through the EF App, supporting multiple modes such as self-consumption, Intelligent mode, and custom mode, as well as multiple functions such as Peak Shaving and Local Mode, helping users maximize the use of solar energy and reduce electricity bills.
- Users with dynamic electricity prices can automatically achieve the minimum cost of electricity without changing their own electricity consumption habits;
- For users with time-of-use electricity prices, compared with time-based custom tasks, the intelligent mode will automatically formulate corresponding charging and discharging tasks based on weather forecasts and considering the future PV power generation level.
More peace of mind: During peak concurrent electricity use (e.g., simultaneous operation of EV charging, heat pumps, and ovens), it reduces the power draw pressure on the main circuit and lowers the risk of tripping due to excessively high peaks.
More flexibility: It allows expansion of home electrification without upgrading the grid contract or modifying home electrical distribution.
More convenience: It operates automatically after setting the power limit and time period, eliminating the need for frequent manual intervention.
Prerequisites:
1. There must be sufficient remaining power in the battery;
2. The load needs to be connected to the AC Outlet of the STREAM 5000.
Notes:
- The grid-connected port will disconnect immediately upon detecting a grid power outage and cannot be used for off-grid power supply;
- Do not connect the AC Outlet of the STREAM 5000 to the power grid;
- The actual available duration depends on the load power, remaining battery power, and photovoltaic power.
If the area where you live frequently experiences power outages, it is recommended to keep the battery fully charged to enable seamless switching to backup power in the event of a power outage.
In the solar input specifications of STREAM: the voltage range of a single port is (20V, 60V), the short-circuit current is 40A, and the maximum input power is 1250W;
The solar panel combination method must meet the following conditions:
1. Voltage: The open-circuit voltage of the solar panel must be within the voltage range of STREAM5000;
2. Current: The short-circuit current of the solar panel is less than the short-circuit current of STREAM5000;
3. Power: The maximum power of the solar panel cannot exceed 1.2 times the maximum input power of 1250W;
4. The current-carrying capacity of the cable connecting the photovoltaic must not be lower than the short-circuit current of the photovoltaic panel of that circuit;
All four conditions must be met simultaneously; if any one is exceeded, it cannot be used;
Combination method:
STREAM 5000 prohibits series connection of photovoltaic panels and only supports parallel connection of photovoltaic panels;
Parallel connection: The current is normally superimposed, and the voltage is limited by the smallest panel. The photovoltaic panels connected in parallel to one PV interface of STREAM 5000 must be of the same model and specifications.
- STREAM 5000 and Power Stream belong to product series with different positioning, adopting different energy management logics and communication protocols;
- Currently, they cannot be added to the same system in the EF App for unified management;
However, Power Stream can be used as a third-party inverter, directly connected to AC OUTLET or home circuit, prioritizing power supply to loads, with any excess supplied to the battery and then fed back to the grid.
First priority: Supply home loads
Second priority: Charge the battery
Third priority: Feed excess energy into the grid
Note: In off-grid situations, the third-party inverter is directly connected to the AC OUTLET. If the output power of the third-party inverter exceeds 3000W, the input of the third-party inverter will be stopped.
A system can support up to 6 units of STREAM 5000 & STREAM AC 5000, with a maximum system expandable capacity of 90KWh.
2. STREAM AC 5000 can be stacked with EcoFlow STREAM Expansion Battery 5000 and Expansion Battery 3000. One STREAM AC 5000 can be stacked with up to 2 Expansion Batteries, with a maximum capacity expansion of 15KWh (with multiple options: 5KWh/8KWh/10KWh/11KWh/13KWh/15KWh)

Disclaimer
1. Annual savings figures are based on internal modelling. Estimated annual generation = PV rated power × PV generation ratio; self-consumed energy = estimated generation × self-consumption ratio; annual savings = self-consumed energy × €0.40/kWh. Actual results will vary depending on household consumption, total storage capacity, maximum output power, and PV system size.
For example, based on a household consuming 7,000 kWh/year, with 2 main units + 2 batteries (20 kWh total), 6,000 W output, and 8,000 W PV:
8,000 W × 0.93 = 7,440 kWh (estimated annual generation) 7,440 kWh × 0.78 = 5,803 kWh (self-consumed energy) 5,803 kWh × €0.40 = €2,321 (estimated annual savings)
PV generation ratio and self-consumption ratio vary by region, system size, and usage pattern. Pairing your PV system with adequate battery storage can significantly increase self-consumption. According to the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), adding battery storage can raise PV self-consumption from 40–60% to 70–85% for a system producing half of a household's annual consumption.
